July 30, 2022 - New Election Sign Going Up Today

Team Bill for Mayor were busy today putting up election signs like this one on Provincial lands near an amusement park in Cavendish.  Unfortunately, it didn't last long and was stolen.

July 29, 2022 - Doggie Poop Bags On Order

At the recent dog park consultation meeting Matthew Jelley made a suggestion the Councilor Drost's campaign was suitable for advertising on doggie poop bags.  We appreciate every suggestion.  Our campaign team considered the idea and a sure fire way to get people to pick up after their pet would be to put Matt Jelley's image on them.  One voter made the suggestion they be branded "Smelly Jelleys".  It has a ring to it at least and sounds better than "doggie poop".  Thank you voter!  We have enough on order for everyone in the community so send us an email and we will put you on the list.  They are free!

July 29, 2022 - Support Lone Oak ... And All Other PEI Brewers

Drop in and pick up some tasty suds from the young entrepreneurs at Lone Oak this weekend.  They will appreciate it for sure.  We are getting our weekend supplies there today.  People need to stand up to dirty politics.  Vote with your wallet.  Also, vote with an X on August 8th.

July 28, 2022 - Voters List Released

For the first time in at least six years, the Resort Municipality has released the voters list to candidates.  It contains the names of 750 people and companies.  If you are a shareholder of a company you may be able to vote on August 6 at the advance poll or August 8 election day.  Click on the "How to Vote" tab for more information.  Some voters names are not on the list.  This doesn't mean you can't vote.  If you are 18 years old or older, live in the Municipality; take you drivers license to the voting station and ask to vote.  If you own land or own a company that owns land, take your proof as a shareholder and your ID and you can vote.

IF YOU WANT TO CONFIRM YOU ARE ON THE VOTERS LIST, CALL ME.

July 26, 2022  - Dog Park Meeting

Congrats to Councilor Robinson on a great presentation.  He presented research on the options for an off-lease dog park in the community.  He raised a good point in that voters should ask candidates where they stood on the issue.  This candidate is 100 percent supportive of the idea.  We need to find the right place and manage the cost of development and operation.  This could be more than just a community dog park.  It has the potential to attract more visitors to the area.  Dog ownership is increasing and they are members of the family and often travel with their owners.  In fact, generally they exclusively travel with their owners (rather than travelling alone).  haha.

July 24, 2022 - Photocopying Voter Drivers Licenses Should be Stopped

Would-be voters are being advised they must submit to having their photo identification copied prior to having their name placed on the voters list.  This practice must stop.  This practice potentially violates the Access to Information and Protection of Personal Information Bylaw.  If elected, Bill Drost will call upon Councilors to pass a motion to have these photocopies destroyed.  If you have the chance, ask other candidates where they stand on this issue.  Voting is a "right" ... it should not be a violation of your privacy.

July 24, 2022 - BillForMayor.CA Signs Go Up

Brightly coloured campaign signs that are custom made by my good friends Connor and Quinn are now available and popping up around the community.  If you would like a handmade lawn sign, send us an email and we will have one delivered to your lawn.  NOTE:  Campaign spending is limited to $500 so we are very grass-roots!  ...thus the handmade signs and low budget website.

July 22, 2022 - Voting Rights Clarified

The elections officials had mistakenly advised some voters they were not eligible to vote if their land did not have a building on it.  Thanks to the intervention of Provincial officials, this mistake has been corrected.  Thanks to the Municipal office staff for contacting those affected voters and correcting the situation with those voters.
